While everyone should imperatively stay at home at the moment, there may be urgent cases when you will need to head out, for instance, those who need to go to work or to buy food essentials. When doing so, if you are travelling in public transportation, you shall be exposed to all sorts of germs and viruses.

How can we, during this global crisis whereby hygiene is crucial, go out and use the bus without danger? Here are a few tips.

Social Distancing

Most buses will be empty during this time, so try to find an empty seat far from others as much as possible. If you are standing, try to keep the recommended 1-2 metre distance between you and the next person.

Sanitise

Bring your hand sanitizer with you, so that you can easily clean your hands after you pay, handle railings and when you hop on and off the bus. Wash your hands when you get home and make sure you also disinfect bags, phone or other things that you brought with you.

Stay Safe

Only head out if you really need to, like for example to get food or medicine. Otherwise, avoid going out and avoid public transportation to minimise risks. Consider getting things delivered to you when possible, or only have one person go out at a time to get things for other members of the household.
