The event aims at pulling together 70 Ford vehicles with a view to raise funds for the School Support Programme in Pailles West, spearheaded by ENL Foundation. It also aims at pursuing the infrastructural work to allow better reception facilities for the children.

ENL Foundation and Ford Mauritius had raised Rs 44,000/ during the first Drive 4 UR Community held in August with the participation of 11 pick-ups. These proceeds went towards the renovation and the exterior works of the project.

This second phase will focus on interior work such as painting and electrical installation. As this second event is a road trip, it will be open to FORD pick-up owners and will allow participants to discover the hidden treasures and cultural heritage of the island.

Rs 2,000 for a good cause

Each Ford participation is equivalent to a donation of Rs2,000 to the School Support Programme which aims at  providing additional educational support through better after-school care.

The School Support Programme, also known as remedial classes, is a class where primary and pre-vocational school students attend after school hours to catch up on their studies.

The School Support Programme was established by ENL Foundation with the help of its fieldworkers at Pailles/GRNW.  Since 2010, the project has been implemented in the five regions where ENL is actively present.
