ŠKODA sponsors the Tour de Maurice for the 2nd year in a row

Škoda, the Czech brand marketed by the automobile division of the ABC Group has signed a sponsorship agreement with the Mauritian Cycling Federation (Fédération mauricienne de Cyclisme) in view of the 2022 edition of the Tour de Maurice. 

The competition will spread across six stages from 18 to 22 October at different parts of the island. For the second consecutive year, ŠKODA vehicles clad in the brand’s colours will accompany the cyclists throughout the ŠKODA Tour de Maurice. 

Prague Auto, an ABC Automobile subsidiary, selling the ŠKODA brand, is the official automobile partner offering five vehicles for the mobility of the organisers and the race director. The white jersey, worn by the best young rider during the various stages of the competition, will also bear the ŠKODA brand.

Michel Ng, Brand Manager of ŠKODA Mauritius, points out : “Through the sponsorship of the Tour de Maurice 2022, ŠKODA is adhering to the tradition of ABC Automobile, which never misses an opportunity to associate itself with a sport cause. It is also a source of pride for our brand to be the sponsor of the white jersey, especially as the ABC Group’s slogan was designed to appeal to young people in particular: Inspired for Future Generations.”

Mauritian Cycling Federation President Michel Mayer believes that the ŠKODA Tour de Maurice 2022 promises to be an exciting event for the Mauritian cyclists as it comes after a season full of performances at the African Championships, the Commonwealth Games and the Tour de La Réunion. 

  “The Mauritian Cycling Federation expresses its thanks to ŠKODA and its Mauritian dealer, Prague Auto, for their renewed and enhanced collaboration this year. The Tour cannot happen without the support of the sponsors, the organising committee, the volunteers and the media”, concludes Michel Mayer.
