How to deal with Spills LexpressCars

As careful as you may be when trying to keep your car interior clean, spill accidents are inevitable. Be it from a cup of coffee on your way to work, spilt milk from your child’s sippy cup, or ketchup from a quick lunch, here are some tips on how to deal with them to avoid permanent stains.

Have a special cleaning kit

You never know when bad luck will strike… Therefore, in addition to equipping your car seats with easy-to-wash protective covers, it is always a good idea to keep a small stock of supplies in your car and ensure you always have cleaning products at hand. A little spray bottle of water, and even a small vacuum cleaner shall do the trick.

Be quick to act on it

Whenever a little mishap occurs, make sure to clean up as soon as you can. Letting it sit will make it more difficult to remove. Moreover, instead of scrubbing the stain (enabling it getting deeper into the upholstery), try to scoop away the loose dirt and gently blot the spill.

Get rid of odours that make you sick

Leftover milk spills, even when cleaned up, may leave a lingering smell behind. Getting rid of the unbearable aroma can be very challenging in a confined car. Try to absorb the smell with natural products such as coffee grounds or essential oils on a cotton ball!

The baking soda trick

Here is another great lifehack for tenacious stains with comes with gruesome odours. Cover the affected surface with a thick layer of baking soda and leave it so for hours (or even days!) It shall soak up the unpleasant smell. Repeat the process for it to be more effective.
