Airbags, windshields, and other materials derived from old vehicles are what drive the design of this men’s and women’s wear collection. Hyundai Motor reinvents design and lifestyle through a creative approach towards sustainable fashion.

Crafted to reflect Hyundai Motor Company’s philosophy of “Saving the planet in style”, Re:Style 2021 features a two-week in-store and four-week online limited edition, of which 80% of sales will benefit the United Nations Development Programme.

The 3rd annual edition of the Hyundai Motor Company’s Fashion Week is a statement of the corporation’s innovation and, undoubtedly, its ability to redefine itself.

In collaboration with creative and industry leaders, the brand’s mission is to engage with younger generations to forge a stronger, more sustainable future.

As upcycling trends are on the rise, the car manufacturer adapts and transforms the waste of its old vehicles into more qualitative materials, to tackle waste and overproduction, by using most of the time fabric scraps which would have certainly ended up in the trash.

New additions to Re:Style include shorts, sweatshirts, hoodies, and sweatpants made from seat leather, rugs, and seat belts. The line also incorporates eco-friendly materials, including organic PET and hanji – a traditional Korean paper, used in the Hyundai Ioniq 5, to provide a comfortable feel to the garments.

In response to this emerging reflection and innovation, the company models global best practices in sustainability and the circular economy.
