Toyota Mauritius Ltd announces the launch of its latest urban SUV, the new Toyota Rush. This model is equipped with front-engine and rear-wheel-drive (FR) layout that enables the large tires and high ground clearance needed for its solid all-terrain performance. It provides powerful traction on gradients and slippery surfaces that increases in proportion to the passengers or cargo load. Its small minimum turning radius ensures good maneuverability on local roads. Aerodynamic design and agile 1.5L engine contributes to low fuel consumption.

Front and rear suspension
MacPherson strut is adopted for the front suspension to achieve excellent handling and stability, ride comfort and maneuverability. The 5-link rear suspension allows for high straight-driving stability contributing to peace of mind over a range of low to high speed, excellent handling and stability enabling desired cornering, satisfactory ride comfort in driving on a off-road as well as on-road.
Key features of the Toyota Rush
SRS Airbags
For maximum safety RUSH is fitted with six airbags. They include SRS airbags for both driver and front passenger, side airbags for the front seats, and SRS curtain shield airbags covering front, 2nd and 3rd row seat passengers. Safety without compromise!
High eye point
With its high eye point design, stable road performance and the uniquely large-diameter tires of an front-engine rear-drive layout, RUSH has the power to take on everything from narrow alleys to off-road environments with more safety and visibility.
Impact absorption
The body structure features a high level of safety in the event of a side impact as well as a frontal impact, considering pedestrian protection. Enough distance between high solid parts (e.g. engine) and hood panel is secured to keep a stroke required for energy absorption in order to protect pedestrians (adult/child).
VSC – Vehicle Stability Control
VSC automatically activates each individual brake as needed and controls engine output to help maintain stability and prevent skidding
when turning sharply or cornering on slippery road surfaces.
ABS – Anti-lock Braking System
In emergency braking situations, the maximum brake force is applied without the tyres locking up. This system helps to prevent the vehicle from skidding while maintaining steer-ability and tyre grip.
HAC – Hill Start Assist Control
HAC helps to ensure a smooth start on steep inclines by automatically applying the brakes for up to two seconds after the brake pedal is released. This prevents the vehicle from rolling back.
LED main headlamps
The LED headlamps, standard on all models, bathe the road ahead with a more natural tone of light and are complemented by LED combination type rear lights. LED’s provide excellent distribution of light, contributing to good visibility and safety at night.
EPS – Electric Power Steering
Controls the steering operation torque, which helps contribute to a natural steering feel. EPS helps contribute good fuel efficiency and natural steering feel. Despite the tire having the largest diameter among competing models, a minimum turning radius is 5.2m. When power steering is not needed in straight driving, electronic system contributes to high fuel efficiency.
The interior of the Toyota Rush
This 7 seat urban SUV includes three rows of seats designed for the active lifestyle. A roomy driver’s seat and ample seat pitch ensure ride comfort on long trips. Three rows of seats can comfortably seat up to seven adult occupants, and there is enough interior width and height for plenty of cargo. Double-folding seats on 2nd/3rd row provides easy access and enough cargo space. Cargo space provides enough storage even with all seats in use.
Automatic air conditioner
On hot days the automatic air conditioner, dual zone, is perfect to keep you and your passengers cool and its convenient controls are placed perfectly for easy reach and use.
Smart entry & Start system
On the Urban grade, the smart entry and start system allows you to get in and get going while the key remains in your pocket or bag. The start/stop button starts the engine.
Combination meter
The large twin meter equipped with chrome-plated rings provides three-dimensional scales for both the speedometer and tachometer. A high
contrast type liquid crystal display is used between the meters for excellent visibility and readability.
Rear ceiling air vents
Combined with automatic dual zone air conditioner, the rear cooler is mounted in the rear ceiling to provide a comfortable environment for all passengers. Standard for all RUSH models.
